The Art of “Bee-ing”
I have been noticing the bees hovering around the lavender at my front door and the few flowers that are in my garden. And even though they are very busy sucking up the nectar of life, I have noticed how sometimes they just “hang out” in places, not particularly doing anything but being a bee.
This has an obvious but profound message in it not only for me, but for most of us. Life and schedules can get so hectic at times that we leave little time to just be and experience being in the world. I am wondering if the bees find it as difficult to do – I doubt it! 😀
And It saddens me to hear about their suffering and how bees are dying out in droves on a daily basis. With them their unique messages to us, dying out also. And as our world is a reflection of our lives and humanity on a bigger scale, I am wondering about the bees dying out. Have humanity lost the ability to just “be”, or even “enjoy the sweetness of life”?
I am inviting you to also remember our bee friends, in your care practices for the earth. Whether it is through song, sound, music, drumming, meditation or Shamanic journeying. Spend some time to send loving and healing energy to all creatures, but maybe making some time to send healing to the bee colonies around the world. I do believe that the intentions we send out in the world can have a powerful impact. And if we keep visualizing bee colonies dying out… don’t we create more of the same? Maybe when start visualizing healthy and strong bee colonies, we will create more supportive energy for the bees to remain strong. Visualizing bees and all creatures, living in harmony with the human species.
Bee as TotemÂ
There are many different qualities described to bees and as with all animals they will have a unique message to each of us, and I will encourage you to find your own unique message and connection with the bee.
Steven Farmer mentions in his book “Animal Spirit Guides” (2010:31) that when “Bee” shows up it could mean any of the following:
- It’s time to get organized and get to work on that idea that you want to implement and develop.
- Approach your projects with commitment, diligence, and dedication, and you’ll succeed beyond your wildest expectations.
- Involve several others in a cooperative and life-affirming venture, one in which everyone who participates will benefit – and if possible, one that includes the entire community.
- Take the time to appreciate and enjoy the sweetness of life.
- This is a very fertile time for you physically and creatively, one where you can bring your ideas into fruition.
- This is a very productive cycle for you, so stay with whatever you’re working on, and there will be a favourable outcome.
Reflections from a Honey-Bee
Am I enjoying the nectar of the sweetest flowers with my thoughts? Or am I lingering in the swamp of unproductive thinking?
